What is the difference between a visitor and a dependant visa?
The lengths and conditions for the two types of visa are different. The visitor one could be short and the dependant one may be granted for the same period as the Chevening Scholar's. People who obtain a dependant visa can work up to 20 hours a week while the visitors cannot. If you are a visa national you will not be able to change status to student so make sure a student visa is applied for in the first place.
