English Plus Work Observation Programme This course is designed primarily for students outside the European Economic Area who wish to develop their English and learn more about particular types of work. This career development part of the course will be achieved in two ways - by providing a work observation placement in a selected field of work, and a specialist English Study Programme.
Entry requirements:
Students must have achieved a level of English necessary for them to be effective in the work placement. This will be no less than Intermediate level. Students who are below intermediate level can join a general English Course prior to starting the programme. Students must be over 18 years old and have achieved a good level of education (High School Graduation). Previous experience is not necessary.

4 - 26 weeks
Course Content:
20 lessons of Business English. Approximately half the course is aimed at increasing the accuracy of your grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation and promoting your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. The other half is aimed at improving your business communication skills (participating in meetings, speaking on the telephone, giving presentations, writing reports, E Mailing, letter and fax writing) the introduction of specialised vocabulary and the discussion of issues relevant to the business world.

Language Course:
In addition to Business English, students will be provided with a study pack for their specialist area. One to one tutor support is available each week during the English study period.

Students will undertake work observation under direct supervision from a senior staff member in the organisation. The duration and timing of the work placement will vary depending on a) the availability within the placement and b) the length of course chosen. As far as possible the work observation will be in a block; the balance of time in School compared to time in work is shown below. Please note that the work observation is unpaid and cannot be converted into employment at the end of the course.

Internship Programme
Anglofil has an excellent range of work experience opportunities for those wishing to come to the U.K. to undertake work experience in business. The programme comprises a minimum 2 week course in Business English, including English for Specific Purposes and Cultural Familiarisation, to prepare the student for the internship placement. Applicants requiring more English can join a Business English course prior to joining an Internship Programme.
Applicants from outside the EEA will be asked to complete an application form so that a work permit can be applied for. For non EEA this process will take up to 8 weeks, and could take longer.
Please note that work permits are not required for any E.E.A. countries.

Course Content:
