The Russian Federal Property Fund is arranging the auction next Sunday, December 19, to sell a 76.79% Yuganskneftegaz block, at an initial 246,753,447,303 rubles ($1=27.84 rubles). Ordinary Yuganskneftegaz shares will come in one lot, each at a nominal 177,889 rubles and 80 kopecks. Yukos comes as block proprietor and debtor.

The Spanish government is ready to fund a feasibility study on the construction of a Moscow-St. Petersburg high-speed railroad, the St. Petersburg Times said citing Spanish Ambassador to Russia, Francisco Javier Elorza Cavengt. "The Spanish government is ready to sign an agreement on allocating EUR1.3bn to conduct a feasibility report for the high speed railway," he was quoted as saying. Plans to resume construction of a high-speed railway between Moscow and St. Petersburg were voiced by Russian Transportation Minister Igor Levitin last June. At the time, the ministry studied the experiences of several countries that run similar projects and held negotiations with South Korea, Japan and Spain.
