Medvedev receives Chinese children from quake-hit areas at Kremlin
President Dmitry Medvedev on Wednesday met with Chinese children who have come to Russia for rest at his invitation after a devastating earthquake in the Sichuan province.
The president greeted the kids in the St. Andrew Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace and said their visit was a “good sign” for Russian-Chinese relations.
“I am glad to see you at the Kremlin. Some time ago Chairman Hu Jintao and I agreed that a group of children from the areas

He said over 1,000 Chinese children would come to Russia or rest and rehabilitation in 2008.
“This is a very good sign. This is an indication that there are good-neighbourly, friendly and very close relations between our countries,” the president said.
