Moscow introduces quota for 500,000 migrants in 2009
Moscow’s migrant quota will not exceed 500,000 in 2009, Moscow deputy mayor Valery Vinogradov told journalists on Wednesday.
The demand for migrant workers in the construction sector is 170,000, on the consumer market – 90,000, in the housing and public utilities – 10,000 and in the industry – 8,000.
In January-July, most migrants came to Moscow from Ukraine, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Moldova and Azerbaijan. On the list of the capital’ s foreign workers from visa-regime countries

This year’s migrant quota in Moscow totalled 600,000.
