Natural gas prices are likely to exceed $500 per 1,000 cubic meters by the end of 2008, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller told journalists today. He noted that the energy holding's analysts had recently updated their forecasts in line with the new figure.
Gas prices may top $1,000 per 1,000 cubic meters next year, especially if oil prices exceed $250 per barrel, according to Miller. He pointed out that the price of $1,000 per 1,000 cubic meters was not unprecedented, as there had been occasions when prices stipulated in futures contracts were higher than that figure.
