Russia's Marat Safin through to Wimbledon last 16
Russia's former World No. 1 Marat Safin advanced on late Friday to the fourth round of the Wimbledon tennis tournament after defeating 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 Italy's Andreas Seppi (seeded 29).

The 28-year-old Russian, who is currently ranked 75th in the ATP rankings, said the game that lasted for over three hours was tough in the end as it was getting dark and it was almost impossible to see the ball.

"At the end of the match it was pretty tough because we both couldn't see the ball anymore," ATP website said quotin

Safin, whose best result so far at the Wimbledon was a quarterfinal finish in 2001, is now facing No. 13 seed Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland, who is ranked 9th in the ATP rankings.
