Helicopter brought under fire in Chechnya
Unidentified people have brought a helicopter under fire in the Vedeno District of Chechnya, as a result of which a soldier serving under contract was wounded, a source in the law enforcement agencies of the Southern Federal District told Itar-Tass.

“Two helicopters, Mi-8 and Mi-24, were on a special mission on Monday morning. One of the helicopters was fired at from firearms by unidentified people from a forest five kilometres south-east of the village of Oktyabrskoe at 11.30, Moscow time. A contract soldier was wounded in the leg and got a shrapnel wound at the head near the left eye,” the source said.

The case is being investigated.
