Russia, Ukraine may switch over to 10-year gas contracts
Almost all gas questions in Russian-Ukrainian relations have been resolved, two countries would like to build “transparent, specific and clear” relations for years to come, Russian Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov said.
“We would like to build transparent, specific and clear relations in this sector for years to come, maybe even for a decade, formalising all aspects of gas supplies and transit,” Zubkov told journalists after a meeting of the Russian-Ukrainian Committee on Economic Cooperation on Monday.
He and Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko said the two countries would have to build an effective and stable system of cooperation in the gas sector.
“With more effort and political will all questions will be solved,” he added.
