Putin instructs govt take realistic pledges for life improvement
Russian President Vladimir Putin demanded from the government to assume realistic pledges for improving the life of Russian citizens and fulfil them definitely. “The most important thing is that all pledges should be realistic and certainly fulfilled. We do not need empty promises, which are not supported by a solid financial base,” Putin said at a meeting on economic issues at the Kremlin on Friday.
The meeting continued several meetings on budget projections for 2009 and for the scheduled period 2010-2011.
“I want to outline the major principles, which should be the guidelines in the drafting of the three-year budget,” Putin told the ministers in charge of economic matters.
“Certainly the budget resources should be used in an utterly effective way to attain the strategic aims of economic and social development of the country. The development of innovative and systematically interrelated matters,” Putin went on to say. “The macroeconomic stability should be given close attention,” Putin believes.
In his view, all this is “the vital conditions for further and progressive development of the country and for the development of those positive results, which Russia has achieved in the past few years.”
Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin believes that the major targets of the state investments are the country’s security, the streamlining and development of social and transport infrastructures.
“The major targets and forms of realizing the state investments were set,” Putin recalled. “The definite priorities are to ensure the country’s security, upgrade and develop social and transport infrastructures,” he added.
