The democratic development of Russia must be viewed in the long-term. The Foreign ministers of Finland, Sweden, and Norway -- Ilkka Kanerva, Carl Bildt, and Jonas Gahr Store -- expressed this opinion here on Monday at the close of their tri-partite meeting.
One of the key subjects of discussion at their meeting was the development of relations with the Russian Federation and its regions in the formats of the Barents and Baltic Seas and the Northern Dimension.
The meeting, which was dedicated to matters of current import | Ads |  | ance concerning international politics and security, also dealt with Scandinavian countries' participation in operations to settle crises, such as the one in Afghanistan. Participants in the meeting referred to their talks as very successful and emphasized the importance of Scandinavian cooperation in every form.
