Russia's top two women tennis players Maria Sharapova and Svetlana Kuznetsova won convincing second round victories at the Pacific Life Open singles in Indian Wells, California.
Fourth-seed Sharapova clinched her 15th straight victory, beating France's Stephanie Cohen-Aloro 6-1, 6-0 in less than an hour on Friday.
Second-seed Kuznetsova overpowered fellow Russian Ekaterina Makarova in a 6-1 6-1 win.
Russia's Maria Kirilenko was beaten by Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark 6-2 6-0.
In the third round, Sharapova will meet Greece's Eleni Daniilidou (25), and Kuznetsova will play Dominika Cibulkova (28) of Slovakia.
