Russia legend ballerina Natalia Bessmertnova died at 67
Russian famed ballerina Natalia Bessmertnova died in Moscow at 66, the press service of the Bolshoi Theatre told ITAR-TASS on Tuesday.
She worked in the Bolshoi Theatre for 50 years.
Bessmertnova, whose surname is for “immortal”, came to the Bolshoi Theatre as a graduate of its elite ballet school.
She was youngish when leading ballet masters of the Bolshoi Theatre trusted her leading parts in their shows.
Bessmertnova danced main parts in ballets staged by her husband Yury Grigorovich – “ Romeo and Juliet”, “The Love Legend”, “Ivan the Terrible,” “The Golden Age”.
After leaving the stage, Bessmertnova, coached young dancers. She was the People’s Artiste of the USSR and a laureate of the Lenin and State Prizes.
