The Russian parliament said the recognition of Kosovo as a sovereign state and the admission of Kosovo to the United Nations and other international organisations adherent to the fundamental principles of international law would be impossible, a joint statement of the State Duma, the lower house of parliament, and the Federation Council, the upper house, said in connection with the declaration of Kosovo’s independence.
