Russian athletes tasked with winning 14 gold medals at 2014 Winter Games
Russian athletes have been tasked with winning at least 14 gold medals at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, First Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov said after a meeting of the presidium of the Council for the Preparation of the Olympic Games.

The meeting of the presidium lasted about four and a half hours. “We discussed the preparation of the main facilities for the Olympic Games,” Zhukov said, adding that the second question was the training of athletes for the Olympic Games.

“We were talking about the construction of new stadiums, scientific and methodological preparation,” he said.

The Russian president’s Council for the Development of Physical Culture, Sport, High Performance Sport is to meet on Tuesday to discuss the preparation and holding of the 22nd Winter Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014.
