Elton John to play Candle in the Wind at the Kremlin
Sir Elton John, one of the world's most famous singers will play together with the Elton John Band at the Kremlin in Moscow Tuesday night, the head of the promotion company said.

"The program will be the best, all his hits will be performed, plus some new songs. In addition, it will be a very beautiful concert. A show held in a concert hall is always far more interesting than the one in a sports center, and is received differently," Vladimir Zubitskiy said, adding the singer would perform for around 2 and half hours.

He also said the tour, the singer is currently on, was one of his finest and "he is better than ever now."

The agreement to perform in Moscow was struck during Elton John's Rostov-on-Don concert, which took place in front of 90,000 spectators, given to honor the city's 70th anniversary in mid-July.

Sir Elton John, born Reginald Kenneth Dwight in England in 1947, is a five-time Grammy and one-time Academy Award-winning pop-rock singer. He is one of the most successful artists of all time selling more than 250 million albums plus over one hundred million singles sold. The singer was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and knighted in 1998.

He is well-known for his work in the fight against AIDS and in 1992 set up the Elton John Aids Foundation, which has raised over $125 million to support programs in 55 countries around the globe.

He also took part in a civil partnership ceremony to his partner David Furnish on December 21, 2006, the day that legislation came into effect in the U.K. offering same-sex couples legal rights similar to married people.
