Besides providing direct assistance to countries affected by the tsunamis in South Eastern Asia, Russia will contribute to international efforts in this sphere, Russian Senior Deputy Foreign Minister Valery Loshchinin told diplomats from India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Thailand. According to the information and press department of the ministry, the diplomats were briefed on the efforts that Russia was making and was planning to make to provide urgent assistance to people who suffered the natural calamity.
