Russian world chess champion Garry Kasparov won the tournament in Linares on Thursday and announced that he decided to quit his professional career.
The world champion said he had been “under enormous pressure” of late, but did not elaborate.
Kasparov said he would only play in simultaneous and quick chess tournaments, but that will not be of professional level.
