About 2,200 people responded to the question: "What was the most exciting event of 2004?" The vast majority of respondents said Russian women players victories.

Only 9% voted for the Olympics.

Last season, Russian women tennis players won a quarter of all international tournaments (15 of 60). Anastasia Myskinas victory at

the French Open, Maria Sharapovas triumph at Wimbledon and the end of the season tournament in Los Angeles, and Svetlana Kuznetsovas victory at the US Open are all noteworthy.
