Russian Ambassador to the United States Yuri Ushakov received Anna Kadalayeva, 10, who was injured in the terrorist attack in Beslan, at the Russian Embassy in the US.
In October, Ms. Kadalayeva and her relatives came to the United States, where the Russian and Jewish communities paid for her eye surgery.
During the tragic events in Beslan, Ms. Kadalayevas head was wounded and she lost an eye, her sister, seven-year-old Alena was also wounded. The explosions inside the school killed their mother, 28-year-old Irin| Ads |  | a Kadalayeva.
Mr. Ushakov thanked Americas Russian and Jewish communities for their assistance. "You have extended a helping hand and we appreciate this very much," he said.
An American organization set up to aid Russia, raised the money for the expensive artificial-eye implant surgery.
The organizations chairman, Andrei Mogilyansky, said the organization had collected more than $1 million to aid children who were injured in the Beslan hostage crisis.
