Spain hopes that EU-Russian agreements on a simpler visa regime and the creation of economic, security, educational and cultural spaces will be signed by spring, Spanish ambassador to Moscow Francisco Javier Elorza Cavengt announced on Thursday.
"Spain would like the agreement [on simplifying visa regime] to be signed by the Russia-EU Moscow summit in May 2005 and hopes it will be much more ambitious than the existing bilateral agreements [between Russia and Germany, Russia and Italy, Russia and France] in this field," the ambassador said in an Interfax interview ahead of Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodrigues Zapateros forthcoming visit to Moscow.
