The average rate of growth in industrial production in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was 8 percent in January-October, 2004 against the level of industrial production in the corresponding period of 2003, the CIS Intergovernmental Statistics Committee reported. In terms of industrial output growth, Russia was in 7th place in the CIS with a growth rate of 6.2 percent.
The fastest increase in industrial production (by 16.1 percent) over the first 10 months of this year was registered in Belarus, and the corresponding figures for Tajikistan, Ukraine and Kazakhstan were 15.2 percent, 13.6 percent and 10 percent respectively.
In Oc | Ads |  | tober 2004, the volume of industrial production rose by 2 percent in the CIS against that in September of this year. The corresponding figures for Georgia and Moldova were 21 percent and 15 percent respectively. In Azerbaijan, Tajikistan and Ukraine the rate of industrial production growth was 5-7 percent in October.
The average rate of growth in manufacturer prices was 22 percent in the CIS in January-October, 2004. The fastest increase in manufacturer prices (by 25.3 percent) was reported in Belarus, and the lowest rate of growth in manufacturer prices of 5.1 percent was reported in Georgia.
