Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Vatican have officially launched a project on publishing seven-tome collected works of Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic theologians, who lived at the end of the 19th and in the early 20th century.
The publication was launched at the initiative of Russian Metropolitan Philaretus, the chairman of Moscow Patriarchate’s theological commission.
He visited Rome to have talks on the project that has the official blessings of the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia | Ads |  | Alexy II and Pope John Paul II.
Sunday, a Vatican delegation including Cardinal Paul Poupard, the president of the Pontifical Council for Culture, and two archbishops arrived in Moscow for talks with Russia’s top clerics. Their visit is due to continue until November 19.
The Holy See said in a press release issued in connection with the visit it believes a spiritual rapprochement between the Roman Catholic and the Eastern Orthodox Christian communities is one of priority tasks in the 21st century.
