The UNICEF director stressed that UNICEF, as the organization that works with the young generation will continue active work in this region, taking into account historical and cultural traditions of the republics of the North Caucasus. Schools should be a place of peace and joy, and children should never be hostages of political problems, Carol Bellami said.
Leaders of the region should unite for settlement of common tasks and that should be the main monument to the Beslan victims, Carol Bellami said.
